The name Kumite is in reference to a type of training that pits athletes against each other to test their skills. Made famous by the movie "Bloodsport," with Jean-Claude Van Damme.
While this is actually a weightlifting meet and not a full contact martial arts tournament, we wanted to pay homage to the concepts of this tournament and use a cool 1980's movie for inspiration.
Registration will include a t-shirt and a cup to drink form our local Keg!
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 sinclair of each age range.
